Greetings Hoarders & Mis-adventurers!

Wow, yesterday's poll was a close one! But in the end, you all ventured on a side quest! (who needs guidebooks anyway?) This means that officially all the Derpy Companions now have a revealed stat block! It has been brought to my attention that the guild the Derpies have spelled intelligence wrong. (Oops, sorry about that. I will fix it if I can scrape together time this week... Otherwise, can we just assume the Derpies wrote it instead of me? Since Photoshop doesn't have spellcheck. Or rather it is set to Spanish and I don't know how to fix it >.< and I have to manually remake each image.)

You can't believe your luck! You found actual directions in a dungeon pointing your way to the main quest! And even better it's on a large wooden post in the middle of a passag which splits two ways! But as you turn towards the path of freedom, all 3 Derpies' eyes light up as they all unanimously turn towards the side quest side. 

"No! Absolutely not! We need to get out of here!" You protest. But your pleas fall on deaf ears as they all skip and giggle in excitement towards the side quest.

Groaning inwardly, you follow them after several more ineffective attempts to dissuade them. Why did you ever decide to follow these Derpies into a treacherous dungeon? You vow to never do something so foolish again as the Derpies begin to sing, their song echoing off the halls. Stealth was never an option, you realize. Despite knowing that it might have been the only chance at surviging this place.

As you round the corner, you come across an iron door. It is larger than a regular door, and you dread what you will find as the Derpies all lean in and push it open to reveal... (Vote in today's poll to see what you find!)

I am really enjoying all the names you guys have come up with for the Derpies! And you are all making it very hard to decide. But in the end, my favourite three are: Ash, Draggo, and Conch .

If you are new here, welcome! It's so nice to have you along for this PinQuest! In every update I take you along a short mini adventure story. Where you are the hero who agreed to protect three little Derpy Dragons as they ventured into a dungeon, completely unprepared but with great enthusiasm! (Don't all good D&D adventures start out that way?)

Like with a typical D&D session, backers are in the driver seat as to how the story unfolds! By voting on the daily polls, you decide what happens next in the adventure as I pull out my inner bard and embrace my status as forever DM and write a tale of your grand conquests and critical rolls...for good or ill. (You can read previous shenanigans in the community tab under updates!)

Within the story I reveal side-quests which can earn you real life loot! Some physical, some digital (Both are revealed in this update so keep reading!) But, not all booty are freely given. The official Weirdling Tribe Guild requires some active participation so they may weed the free-looters from the true heroes worthy of tale. They monitor this via the achievements tabs! (Usually requires an action from you to click a button or make a comment - nothing too strenuous, I assure you!) And to make it easy for you I always link the active side quests in the updates! And the best part? For many you don't have to be a backer to participate! You can just join the party and have some fun with us!

So without further ado *clears throat and begins talking in my most authoritative Dungeon Master voice*:

It should come as no surprise to you that your Derpy Dragon companions will pick up and collect every cute creature they come across. Perhaps they are druids or rangers at heart, and just need a new pet animal companion? Regardless, the moment one of them spotted the baby owlbear you heard the familiar words: "Can we keep him?"

With a groan, and no promises you made, you insist that you look for an over protective mama owlbear first. But, as you look around it is clear that this little baby have wandered away from its nest. You can't just leave it here, not knowing the other dangers you have already discovered on your own!
 
You reluctantly agree that the Derpy Dragon can keep it until you find a safer home for it. Preferably with its own kind! 

You decide that a short rest is in order and settle in beside your Derpy companions as you notice a familiar scribble on the wall. Taking out the scrap of paper you discovered earlier, you notice that you have found the item for the side quest! (you unlocked the achievement - details below)

We may leave with some loot yet at the end of this quest, you think to yourself as you pick up the shiny strangely shaped rock indicated on the side-quest parchment. Who cares if it is only a consolation prize given by the official Weirdling Tribe Guild! Loot is loot.

The promise of real treasure excites your little companions when you tell them about your discovery. Perhaps your effors are not in vain. As you scour the page, your eyes fall apon a cursive handwritten note at the back of the quest page:

You glance to your companions and together you decide that if loot is good, bigger loot must be better! So you accept the second side quest!

I just realized that I never properly introduced you to your Derpling Party members! In case you didn't notice, there are 3 distinct Derpies for this campaign. And while this was originally unintentional, it has worked out well to craft a story for them! However, without names, it is becoming harder and harder to identify them individually. I already mentioned needing names in my previous update. 

Meet your party companions:

I absolutely love what you guys are coming up with! Below are just a few examples so far! (😊Thank you guys you made my day!❤️) So keep the derpy names coming as we venture deeper and deeper into the dungeon. There may even be a treasure for those whose names I pick! (It will be a digital prize so anyone can participate even if you don't back!)

Welcome fellow adventurers, to another chapter in the live adventures of Dungeons & Derpies! (Where your votes determine the adventure, just like a real D&D campaign!)

To those who just joined the adventure, welcome! And thank you for being here! You can read the full Derpy adventure story so far under the community tab as we quest through the campaign. But to summarize, you have set out on a quest with 3 Derpy dragons under dubious conditions at best, in search of a single scale from an ancient red dragon. (Derpies aren't the brightest, but they have full confidence that with you at their sides they will be successful.)

Below is a typical Derpy stat block... (With each poll, I reveal the stats to the new design you guys voted on! And when we hit 8, backers will help me create the designs for number 9 & 10) So come and join the fun as we adventure together and eventually create two pins together! Like and comment on the polls and updates to help the campaign soar into visibility! (Backerkit likes to show campaigns with high engagement ❤️)

Feeling rather pleased after accepting the side quest (achievement link below) you wander deeper into the dungeon in search of this secret secret treasure. But alas, luck was not on your side as the very next door you opened was a large red dragon protecting a giant golden D20.


You all roll for initiative, but alas, only you are faster to react than the dragon who is more surprised to see such adorable derpies than feeling threatened by them. With your six words, you yell for the to "Run as fast as you can!"
But do they listen? Noooo....one of them just HAD to touch the shiny dice! 
After several curses at the Derpies, and a dragon breath or two later, you manage to haul them all out of there with a grappling attack as you literally grab them by the horns and carry them out of there... A bit worse for wear, but miraculously alive. 
You attribute your luck mostly on the fact that the large red dragon didn't know what to do when one drew a wooden sword and the other one a stick.
Panting, you glower down at the Derpies who look up at you with such innocence you find it hard to stay mad for too long as you huff a breath of exasperation. 
After you lecture them about the perils of touching other dragon's hoards, you realize you don't know your new companions' names.

Well the shenanigans have begun, and in your rush to escape the mommy displacer kitty, you almost missed the next door. (Aka, I forgot to attach the poll so you can vote on the next encounter 😅)
Luckily, as you slid past the door, your passive perception succeeds its roll, and you stumble into a dark room at the last second.

As you pause to catch your breath, you pook around. At the center of the room is a pedestal, a glimmer hovering over the center catches your eye.

At last! Your first loot! But as you go closer, you notice it's a map sprinkled with glitter. The words "secret side quest" scribbled on the wrinkled surface above a crude drawing of treasure. 

Will you accept this side quest? Simply click the achievement linked below to find the treasure! And don't forget to follow the trail (achievement on Dungeon Familiars page) to solve the riddle on what this treasure is!

Greetings Hoarders and Mis-adventurers,

Well, it didn't take long for your Derpy companions to pick up the first adorable creature they encountered. But that shouldn't surprise you as you agree that the little displacer-kitty is adorable...or at least it was until its mews attracted the mama Displacer beast! 

You have never seen such chubby legs run so fast as you and the Derpies haul your ill-prepared booties right out of that dungeon room! I mean, who locks up scary creatures like that for just anyone to find?!

You all breathe heavily as you stand in front of another door. The three Derpies cowering behind you as you reach for the knob.

"I thought you guys were 'brave Derpies'," you mutter, scowling at them all looking innocently up at you.

"We are," the one with a wooden sword chimes in. "That is why we asked you to join us. That took a lot of courage."

Unbelievable, you think to yourself. If it wasn't for the fact that the portal into the dungeon was a one-way trip, you would grab all three by their necks and haul them out of this place. 

But there is nowhere to go, but forward. And so you push open the second door in the dungeon. Hoping beyond hope that there is treasure and not more danger beyond the door...

Well, adventurers, you have found the little Displacer Kitty in your quest. After a narrow escape, you delve deeper into the dungeon. Which encounter will you discover next? Or will you find new friends to join you as you search for a way out? Vote in today's poll to find out! And don't forget to back as today is the last day to get your FIRST FREE LOOT!
